Rising above a scene rich with extraordinary wildlife, pristine lakes, and alpine terrain, the Teton Range stands monument to the people who fought to protect it. These are mountains of the imagination. Mountains that led to the creation of Grand Teton National Park where you can explore over two hundred miles of trails, float the Snake River or enjoy the serenity of this remarkable place. (from the above website)

Leaving Yellowstone by the South Entrance will bring one immediately to  the John D. Rockefeller, Jr. Memorial Parkway.  This beautiful scenic route meanders through the area to get wonderful vistas of the Tetons.  Steve was amazed that in mid August there was still snow in dem dere hills.

We stopped briefly at the small museum and gift shop.  Bought postcards.  Our agenda moved us along somewhat quickly.  There are self-guided walking trails, hiking trails, ranger talks, swimming, camping, history talks and tours and wilddddddlllliifffe. The Snake River meanders in front of the mountain.  Lakes.    And, of course, beautiful vistas.

This posting will be mostly pictures.
